WARNING! If a recipient accepts a gift, and a giver asks for a refund (for
example, cancels the bank transaction), the total gift package cost will be
deducted from the gift recipient’s account. If an account has insufficient
funds it will be blocked until sufficient funds are acquired. Do not accept
gifts from strangers.
My understanding: if giver cancel the transaction, then recipient has to pay
the gift or account got blocked. If you hate someone, send out a gift! haha

After all this time I've been roused to post on the forums for the first
time. I apologise for the verbosity.
Two times in WoT history I've said to myself, "Oh my god, what the frack
were they thinking? Can this be true?"
First time was with that pathetic, and thankfully shortly-lived, American
voice package. It was pretty insulting to be given a voice package aimed at
10-year-olds, but at least they rectified that quickly.
Second time was with this latest effort. Adding the A-32, PzKpfw V-IV, and
M6A2E1 to the gift store was just wrong. Immoral. Inconsiderate. But I want
to clarify something for the record. I missed out on the PzKpfw V-IV (I only
play German tanks, so the others don't interest me) because I was cautious.
I didn't spend a bunch of cash on a game that had no reliable reviews (
having not yet been released) at the time and could have turned out to be a
pile of rubbish. I was punished for having caution. Those who were beta-
testers were rewarded (well, loosely speaking) for their contribution by
being given the exclusive offer to buy pre-order packages. That's fair
enough. But the incautious and/or rich were rewarded also. After playing for
quite a time I concluded the game was (just) good enough to spend money on.
But it has haunted me to this day that I missed out on the PzKpfw V-IV
because I was, in my opinion, intelligent, prudent, and justifiably cautious.
I have every German premium available for purchase other than the Lowe (I
hate them, and the way they were just made over-priced rather than being
balanced I despise, but that's my issue, and not particularly relevant).
That means my best is a tier 5 Skoda T-25. I love it, but it really doesn't
earn enough credits for my needs. For a long time now I've been dying for a
higher tier premium tank. Then I heard of the Pz IV Hydro coming out in
update 7.0, and my heart leapt. The Pz IV Hydro was surely going to fill the
gap of the PzKpfw V-IV, and at long last give me something a little better
at earning credits than my T-25. But update 7.0 came along and I was denied
my wish. Plus the Pz IV Hydro, by the last account I read, was rubbish.
Now for anybody who I have not yet sent to sleep, I'm getting to my point(s):
1. I want every (non-Lowe) German tank. I need a better credit earner than
my T-25. I would kill for a PzKpfw V-IV. But....
2. Whether claims made on YouTube videos and such constitute sufficient
legal basis for the claim that the pre-order tanks were to be exclusively
available to players who pre-ordered, with no possibility of them ever being
available through any other means at any other time is not the point. The
law is an ass. The point is it's wrong. If the players all understood that
to be the case then the honourable, moral, right thing to do is honour that
understanding. That means I miss out forever on the PzKpfw V-IV which I
covet. But that's only fair.
3. Those of you who think selling the pre-order tanks in the gift shop, '
because Wargaming need to sell gold for their business,' please consider
this. Had they added the Pz IV Hydro and other such tanks to the gift shop
then they would be making gold at this very minute by selling something new
rather than re-hashing an old deal and old premium tanks. Hell, they could
have made a slightly tweaked version of each of the pre-order tanks
available and, technically, they would be different tanks and all their
problems would be solved. But somewhere along the continuum from pure
expedience and pure disregard the choice was made to just re-hash the old
pre-order tanks. For those of you who preach the need for Wargaming to make
money, I suggest Wargaming had the means to do it in the form of some of
their new premium tanks, rather than holding said premiums on ice and
dragging things out interminably.
4. It is also wrong of Wargaming to try to circumvent allowing us to spend
our gold. That's unarguably what this 'gift' thing is all about. We can't '
buy' it with gold we already have, and If they wanted to allow us to provide
gifts for our friends and clan-mates they could just let us (perhaps for a
gold transaction fee) just buy or give them directly. They even had a 'give
gold' button sitting there for a while. That many people are happy they can
finally give things to their friends and clan-mates should not be a
distraction from the true, business-driven reasons behind the implementation.
I have a sizeable stash of gold sitting in my account, and it's been there
for a while now in preparation for adaptive camo to be released (until it
comes out we won't know if we're just wasting our gold on buying individual,
very expensive paint schemes) and to buy some new premiums. Yet it would
seem that, had the PzKpfw V-IV remained available in the gift shop - finally
a premium tank I want - I would have to spend MORE money. Meanwhile my
stash of gold would be going to waste with no new content worth spending it
on.
In business terms it's astute to offer things like retail boxes with
exclusive tanks, forcing us to spend more money to get one individual tank
that we couldn't otherwise get. I abhor the practice generally, and don't
understand why Wargaming have not been clever enough to use it (their first
retail package was rather lame). But even if they resort to this dirty
business tactic, they should not be ceasing to offer anything reasonable to
spend our gold on. After all, had the PzKpfw V-IV package still been
available, and had I bought it, what would I do with yet more gold lying
around? Would the next premium tank I want also be part of some package
requiring me to spend more money, accumulate more gold, and still have
nothing to spend my gold on?
I appreciate that my situation is atypical. I could buy, say, a Type 59 or a
Lowe to spend a chunk of my gold, and I could - if I didn't make the same
assessment as a great many players that they are over-priced and largely
pointless - spend some more gold on camo skins. So, granted, I've no doubt
got more gold stashed away than is normal because I'm more particular about
what I spend it on. But that doesn't change the fact that Wargaming are
trying to find new ways of making us spend more actual money by
circumventing providing us with opportunities to spend the gold we already
have.
Wargaming, your reputation is not great to begin with, but presumably
because you're still making money from your player base, seemingly with
impunity, you seem to have lost sight of what is right. It's not right to
offer pre-order tanks again, and it's so clearly not right that you don't
deserve the benefit of the doubt that it was a simple oversight, unless you'
re telling us that the bean counters in accounting make all the decisions
and nobody who has a clue about the game and its history was involved in the
decision.
Mettle.
