Reading from July/08 Golf Digest, the comfortable length course can be
calcuated by your 5-iron distance * 36.. The point is to take advantage of
your wedge for approaching shot..
for instance, my 5-iron goes about 180 yards. so the comfortable distance
for me is 6480 yards which is pretty much true, even I consistently play
7000 yards course.
Justin Rose hit his 5 iron 200 yards, so he can play 7200 yards .
Then you could understand, when check your local course, | ET

among golf clubs/loft.. some people does have big driver distance than usual
, so this equation might not be always suitable for them..
