c**********e 发帖数: 276 | 1 A few weeks ago, after having played my first-set (practically) of irons (
MIZUNO MX 200) for one year, I decided to have a new set of irons in my bag.
Though MX200 is a good set of irons, and they work for me well. They
have the graphite shafts. I am trying to use long irons, but they feel a
little light. In addition, I would like to have a little more playability
for draw and fade. I wanted to test how steel shafts will work for me, and
develop a passion for new tools. My eyes were on the Mizuno clubs.
I went to a local golf store, and hit Mizuno MP 59, JPX 800 Pro and Mizuno
MP 53. The sales also recommended me to try AP2, with 2 degrees flatter (
6 irons) based on my height. The following is my feel:
(1) MP59 looks best to me, but feels too light when hitting on the sweet
spot, very light feel;
(2) JPX 800 Pro irons look good, but the heads appear a little bulky;
(3) Surprisingly, the AP2 feels the best! Solid, and easy to hit on the
sweet spot!
(4) MP 53 feels in the middle between MP59 and Ap2. The good thing about
MP53 is the standard L/L/L works for me, though a little (1 degree flatter)
may work the best for me.
My choice is narrowed down to AP2, and MP53. Since MP53 is much cheaper, I
can use the standard L/L/L. I decided to try to hit MP53 for the rest of
this season.
Where to order? The cheapest channel is thru Ebay. Always, people are
wondering seller’s credibility and the authenticity of the clubs. There
are a few active sellers on ebay who are selling “USED” but practically
brand new clubs with custom options. After a little search, I decided to
purchase the clubs from a seller on ebay ( I asked this question on this
board before). This guy is running his own 9-hole golf course in Maine, and
people said the clubs were shipped directly from Mizuno. Before I made the
purchase, I emailed him, and asked him where the clubs are to be shipped,
and he confirmed with me that all the clubs would be shipped from Mizuno
factory in GA. So, I decided to bite the crab!
I purchased a set of MP53. He then emailed me an interesting questionnaire.
After I sent him the completed the questionnaire, he emailed me his
recommendation for club fitting. Well, his shaft recommendation is
basically the same as what Mizuno Shaft Optimizer (I tried this at a local
golf store) both of them recommended me to use stiff reflex with soft
stepping. I was very hesitating to move from regular to stiff (due to
finger problems) and I prefer smooth tempo as well. After a few emails
back and forth, I decided to take the advices, and give the S300 a try, and
ordered the S300 with sensicore technology, which was also recommended by
him.
He emailed the order to Mizuno. Today the set of clubs except 6 iron arrived
, and yes, they have also been drop-shipped from Mizuno in GA to my home.
I think they are authentic clubs. I was told 6 iron was back-ordered, and
will be shipped at the end of this week.
Now they need my soul and passion and make them alive. I hope they work for
