发帖数: 138 | 1 I am doing my Phd in a top 5 ivy league university, but my major ranked only
17 in US. Now my advisor is leaving and move to a university which ranked 5 in
my major(top 5 in whole engrnieering school) but the overall rank is around
40. It is very hard for me to decide because I like current school. I know I
have to make decision all by mysefl, but just get so furstrated. If you were
me, what will you do? I really want to see other people's response for this
big change. Sigh... | g*****f

If like that, my opinion is staying at UPenn. Though ranking sometime means
nothing, UPenn does mean something. UIUC is not at the same level, even its
engineering is super strong.

above, you should go with him.

发帖数: 241 | 6 At least Dartmouth, Brown are not as good as UPenn in the common sense.
I have to say UPenn is at the same level with Columbia and Cornell but
way lower than Harvard, Princeton and Yale. Claiming it top 5 in ivy league
should be OK.
