我查了一下,如果只是gauge不同,其他都一样,那么pattern是一样的,那是不是说打猎和
trap用12和20没区别?好象听起来不打对头,但不知道miss了什么.
同样shell size, 12 gauge 比 20 gauge 装的shot多一些?(体积大一些?)
12和20比各有什么特点?这个问题是不是版上已经有回答了?

are the same, 12 gauge and 20 gauge are pretty much the same in performance.
however, 12 gauge ammo is slightly more common in shops; 20 gauge shotguns
tend to be lighter, therefore when you shoot the same payload, 20 gauge
actually have greater recoil; the standard 20 gauge loading is 7/8 oz where
as 12 gauge is 1 1/8 oz; and lastly, 20 gauge does not usually load #0, #00,
and #000 buck because the large pellets will have to stack on top of each
other and pattern goes to shit. | w*********r

发帖数: 8941 | 4 你miss了弹丸密度。虽然12GA和20GA的散布圆直径一样大，弹丸也一样大（如果你选择
同样size的弹丸的话），但是同样散布圆上的弹丸数目要多很多，因为12GA携带的弹丸
数量多。

So standard wise, 20 gauge shell comes in a lighter payload (7/8 oz) than
the 12 gauge if I understand correctly?
How about potential home protection, if 0,00,000 is not good shot size for
20 gauge, what will be a good shot size for home protection on 20 gauge?

Yeah but the standard is just a reference. Most of the 12 gauge shells I've
bought are 2 3/4", 1 oz loads.
For home protection, #1-#4 buckshot has been proven effective man stoppers,
though I personally prefer #00 buck.

Gauge will make your life much easier. | S**********s

not to mention a lot of good models of pump and semi auto don't chamber for
20 gauge.
and 12 gauge has a much greater variety of exotic ammo to fufill some "
tactical" requirements, breaching, road blocker (harden-cored slug), payload
slugs, flares... Not that everyday joe like you and me have much use for
them, but just saying, 12 gauge armor piercing slug does sound like fun. | a*****9

really.
Still, slugs are kicking harder.

The only reason I am considering a 20 gauge is the weight, which allows me
to swing faster, but then again the weight difference is not that
significant.

bad
have to point out a few things
-slugs only kick harder if, 1. heavier projectile, 2. higher fps
-gas operated semi auto OF THE SAME WEIGHT recoils less than pump
-barrel recoil operated semi auto, such as Browning Auto 5, tend to kick
even harder, because shooter receives full recoil from the projectile and
gas, along with the barrel and bolt slamming back at the receiver.
