s****r 发帖数: 31686 | 1 I have owned about 27 1911's in my life and I used to build 1911's for frien
ds.
There are so many variations of the 1911 around - what you buy really depend
s on what you need it for. Although a Colt Gold Cup is quite accurate - it h
as too many sharp corners and parts to be a CCW pistol. Likewise, your typic
al WWII surplus 1911 isn't gonna win you any matches.
The biggest problem with buying 1911's - finding one that somone else has no
t messed with. Seems everyone who buys their first1911 automatically assumes
they know more than the guy who designed it or the manufacturer and has to
take a file or emery cloth to the internal parts. Or worse, remove the facto
ry fitted parts for ill fitting after marke 'upgrades'.
If you like taking 1911's apart and re-assembling them - your first one shou
ld be a standard government model. If you an extra $75 and time - track down
a nice WW2 parkerized model (no collection should be without one). This wil
l be a great pistol to learn on, fire, and work with.
When you move into the realm of Gold Cups and Kimbers - these are pistols no
t designed to be disassembled all the time. Each time you do it - it makes t
he pistol a touch less accurate. Match shooters who fire 50-200+ rounds a we
ek during winter shooting leagues will only add a drop or two of oil on the
silde and rails and run several patches down the barrel. This is all they do
Sept to March - at the end of league shooting the slide is disassembled - b
ut the frame only has the grips removed and the frame suspended in an ultras
onic cleaner. Then hit with high pressure air and a blow dryer to remove the
water. On nice 1911's you do everything you can not to disassemble the fram
e parts.
There is a whole world of 1911's - you can spend 15 years working with them
and still learn alittle something every day. It's not until you own 3-5 of t
hem and take turn using them at the range, you relaize each one has it's own
quirks and personalities.
You can also waste a kings ransom in buying useless parts and gadgets for 19
11's. To start off smart - avoid buying any used ones until you have conside
rable experience.
If you really want to dink with a 1911 - see out one of the old stainless AM
T "Hardballers". These were notorious for never being able to empty a 7 roun
d mag and not jam. Known as the 'Slammer Jammer' - you were considered a rea
l 1911 gunsmith when you arrived at the range with one of these and were abl
e to fire it for a box or two and have no jams!! Part of the problem was the
grade of stainless used in the frame has a different 'grain' than the one o
n the slide. When the polished surface wore off it developed so much resista
nce, it would jam. This is probalby the worlds most perfect project pistol.
One, becaue you learn alot about 1911 gettin one to work reliably - and two
- the staniless would polish up to nice bright finish (no matter how many ti
mes the previous user abused it)

好像想不出还有其它1911的边角会加工的这么挺括。 |
