Urban SHTF Don'ts
**********第一条着重mark出来的，因为这条被多人反复提到过****************
- Rule #1: (guy1) Don't tell anyone, that you are prepared for SHTF. (guy2)
DON'T tell anyone that you are prepping unless they are part of your support
group.(guy3) Don't tell or share with your neighbor that you've got a
couple cartons of shelf stable milk you can share. (guy4) Don't advertise
beforehand that you're into survival etc (guy5) 15 work associates,+ 20
extended familiy, +10 people from church, the league, bingo or other social
group you attend, etc., will all show up because they rememberd YOU said
you had "this and that" tucked away, because YOU were smart and weren't
going to be surprised.

- DON'T Leave your home or bug-in location carrying a long gun. If any cops
are still around, they will arrest you and steal your firearms (Katrina
proved that). Have a hi-cap 9 or .45 pistol and a .22 pistol for defense and
small animal foraging.
- DON'T store food types that take water to prepare. In fact, store can
goosa that are packed in water. This will supplement your drinking water
supply.
- DON'T prep yourself to the poor house. Shoot for 30 days worth. 98%
percent of SHTFs will be weather related or other short-term events.
- DON'T forget to test your generator at least once a month.
- DON'T forget to rotate your water supply, just to keep it fresh.
- Don't look like you have when everybody else doesn't.
- Don't cook out in the open where the smells and sounds can be heard by
hungry neighbors.
- Don't leave your house without a side arm.
- Don't leave your house without leaving weapons for your family.
- Don't look too clean, too well fed, or too happy.
- Don't expect help from anyone.
- DON'T forget to stock toilet paper.
- Don't leave your home base without someone there to guard it and your
preps.
- DON'T forget to improve your security.Make it hard for them to get in, but
not make it hard for you to get out.
- Don't trust that person who has never brought anything borrowed back to
bring things back.
- Don't store things you dont eat its just a waste of money. Eat what you
store and store what you eat.
- Don't go outside to see what all the shouting is about.
- Don't forget the can opener.
- Don't forget to black out your windows after dark if you have some source
of light.
- Don't forget to keep your cool, stay calm, and think clearly. And Stay
ALERT !!
- Don't forget to take care of your human waste properly, away from your
home and water supply.Don't poop where you eat ... keep the functional areas
distinct.
- Don't forget proper firearm discipline "in the heat of the moment", i.e.
don't shoot yourself in the foot (proper discipline only comes from lots of
practice!)
- Don't run your generator any more than you absolutely have to, and
definitely don't run it at night.
- Don't forget the Hot Sauce,Salt, Pepper,etc.
- DON'T forget to stock up on a few different types of anti-septics. Some
infections will respond better to one type of anti-septic, but not as well
to others. Iodine based anti-septic/betadine, Ti-tree, Methylated Spirits/
Ethanol, Hydrogen peroxide, Saline, etc..
- Don't forget a radio.
- Don't keep any pets that you wouldn't be willing to eat if it came down to
it.
- Don't get drunk.
- Do not be unaware of your surroundings at all times. Don't be macho and
walk into a group of 4 or 5 young guys in an almost empty parking lot. Avoid
them, by spotting them first 15 seconds away, and going a different route.
- Don't give in to "comfort" activities that may inhibit your survivability
- smoking, excessive drinking, binge eating. Couple folks stranded in
weather emergencies panicked and ate everything in sight - manic behavior in
a stressful situation.
- Do not forget to own a good sleeping bag.
- Do not forget to buy a water bob. It's a quick way to store 100 gallons of
clean water in every tub of your house and it's nice and compact when not
in use.
- Do not go outside in uniform. This includes ACU's, BDU's,LEO Uniform, even
if you work at best buy. Just were plain jane clothes and no jewelry.
- DON'T think just because you have preps that you're bullet proof.
- DONT FORGET TO TELL YOUR FAMILY YOU LOVE THEM EVERYDAY. | E********t
