MOST 22 LR lowers cannot have a 5.56 upper. There is a size difference (
width) and .22 LR has no buffer, different bolt setup, etc. |

The Colt uses a proprietary upper/lower than can ONLY be used in conjunction
with their (Colt's) own parts. You can't swap uppers with the Colt .22.
Take a look at CMMG's .22 AR. It is cheaper by about $200-250 than the Colt,
it uses standard AR-15 furniture, and it comes with a mil-spec lower
receiver, which means that in the future, if you want to put a 5.56, 6.8,
etc. upper on it, you wouldn't have to buy a separate lower.
