Q: there are 3 kinds of outs: Record Out, Monitor Out, Main Mix Out. I want
to connect to my receiver, can you please generally tell me the basic
difference between these Outs and which one shoule be the best sound qulity?
A; They are all the same sound quality, though TRS and XLR outputs are
balanced, whereas RCA outputs are unbalanced, so you may notice a loss of
signal level using the RCA outputs.
The record out is a bus that sends any channel where the "record" button is
pressed. The main out sends the full main mix. The monitor out sends the
main mix, or whatever source is selected via the grey buttons on the right
side of the mixer. There is a block diagram in the manual where you can see
the signal flow to each of these outputs |
