It depends what you mean by "long distance." Lots of animals can maintain
high speeds over longish
periods (like the Pronghorn). When pushed (by humans) animals like horses
and sled dogs can preform
extraordinary feats of endurance. But as for long (marathon and up) distance
in the "wild" humans would
probably take the cake.
