w******y 发帖数: 59 | 1 I have H1b now. I knew I have a oral offer from EPA and EPA sent the offer
package to ORISE. ORISE however rejected it because I am on H1 status.
ORISE is the one who is doing paper work. I never thought H1 change to J1 is
a problem ( I did not apply for green card at all).
What can I do with this? I really really like the position.
Are these options: Do you think my current school can change my status to J1
? Could I find lawyer to do it myself? Please help...
Thank you so much for your support and answers.

Here is the decriprtion on visa requirment for the job:
The program is open to all qualified individuals without regard to race, sex
, religion, color, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, or
status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran. U.S. citizenship or lawful
permanent resident status is preferred (but can also hold an appropriate
visa status, however, an H1B visa is not appropriate).
I am willing to change to J1. I never thought H1 change to J1 is
a problem (I did not apply for green card at all), especially after the
interview etc..
