It's dopamine that brings the feeling of excitement. Uncertainty sends dopamine skyrocketing. The 50% approval rate of EB1A makes the perfect cocktail for the brain that's craving that dopamine fix, just like romantic love, or other pursuits. The pursuit itself is what makes the journey exciting, rather than the final reward. | B**n 发帖数: 527 | 2 well, uscis knows this pretty well. they squeeze out every drop of your
dopamine by the endless waiting and make petitioners feel high everyday
which is not good

Our needs are multifaceted. Maslow's hierarchy of needs explains this very
well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs
No single one need is better than the other. We need that whole mixture.
Also, with that mixture, or the feeling of wholeness of ourselves, nothing
external is indispensable, including the green card.
For instance, I don't have a green card, and hence I don't need a green card
now. I am perfectly happy to work without a green card and to live with my
family. Without the burden to think of the unknown, I am freer and happier
to prepare for my green card application.
