发帖数: 8 | 1 我LP几年前J1来美做博后，3年后换了H1身份，
我之前曾经以J2身份来探亲3周，在LP换H1身份期间我以B2身份来探亲半年后回国，
现在我是又申请了J1身份来美做博后，但是和LP不在一个地方。
现在的问题是，LP在原单位的合同很快到期，我准备让LP到我这里来，但是呢暂时半年
之内老婆可能没有合适的工作（因为想去的地方半年内没有位置），所以不知道该怎么
办，我的问题如下
1） 想先让老婆转成J2身份，但是不知这样以后找到工作还能不能再换成H1。（如果不
能直接换回国重新申请H1可行吗， 或者如果我waiver了之后是否可行）
2） 有什么办法能够保留H1身份半年吗，现在也只是想度过半年左右的缓冲期。
学校里面的人也说不清这些问题，不知道该上哪里询问这些问题，就请各位多帮忙了 |

the priority is to keep the H1b STATUS of your wife,the only way is to
immediately find another job sponsoring H1b or transfering H1b...I would not
personally recommend your wife to move to your city and transfer to J2...
How if you also have the risk of losing job due to the funding support,then
you whole family would have to move to another lab or leave US. |

economic situation. Dont transfer to J2 if you have to.
think about how many year you gonna spend to get another H1b ?

发帖数: 8 | 4 Thanks a lot for the responses. I think my J1 position here is definitely
not a problem for 3-5 years, actually my wife can either hold her H1 for a
longer time, however she don't want to stay there anymore. Both of us are
willing to go back to CHINA in 3-5 years. So we might not care about this
H1 too much. The things we care about is that if she applies a J2 now, can
she change to H1 or J1 again if someone can provide H1 or J1 for her? How
long time it will take? Thanks for everybody.
