mentioned are citations of your publications. They show the impact of your
research, but because your work was published in journals and are cited in
journals, we cannot use them as evidence of your contributions.
We could use them to support contributions if they became widespread, such
that they were reported in major media.
Stated another way, simply being cited or having your methodology used by
another person is not sufficient to claim that your work was an original
scientific research contribution.
