By this letter, I wish to support XXX’s petition for the Permanent
Residence Visa of the United States of America.
I am a professor at the XXXX. My research focused on the XXXXX. I have
pioneered the combined use of methods from distinct fields of science, with
the merge of methods of statistics and computer science to process text, and
use of information visualization to enhance the performance of sensing. I
am a member of the board of various scientific journals, and am currently
associate editor for the Journal of XXXX. In 2006 I was awarded the Scopus
Prize, given to 16 Brazilian researchers considered the most productive in
terms of papers published and citations.
As an internationally recognized expert, I am able to evaluate Mr XXXa’s
achievements. Mr. XXX is our invited reviewer for the internationally
respected Journal of XXXXX. I don’t know Mr. XXX personally. My evaluation
was mainly based on his outstanding research achievements and timely and
insightful review of the assigned manuscript from me.
XXX is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal with a wide-ranging
coverage, consolidating research activities in all areas of XXXX into a
single and unique reference source. XXX is the first cross-disciplinary
journal to publish original full research articles, rapid communications of
important new scientific and technological findings, timely state-of-the-art
reviews with author's photo and short biography, and current research news
encompassing the fundamental and applied research in all disciplines of
science, engineering and medicine.
Peer-reviews are an essential part of the publication process for a journal.
As an Editor of XXX, My most demanding task is to find the most qualified
reviewers for the peer review system. Mr. XXXX is an outstanding researcher
and internationally recognized expert across multiple-disciplinary research
areas, such as XXXXX,XXXX and XXXX. He has broader publications in many
international top-notch journals such as XXXXXX. I selected reviewers
extremely well versed in the subject and Mr. XXXX was certainly among that
group. I was never disappointed. Mr. XXXX provided a timely and insightful
review of the assigned manuscript that pointed out areas for improvement in
the manuscript. This, in turn, allowed the authors of this manuscript to
improve the quality prior to publication and thereby protect and enhance the
reputation of the Journal.
