好吧，这个问题的标准答案是：
if ( I 140 approval notice does not have A number)
then
chech 485 reciept and that is the A #
else if ( you have mistakenly put OPT A number on I-140 and I-140 receipt
number is the same as your OPT A #)
then
forget about it and look for 485 receipt for A#
else if ( you did not mistakenly put OPT or other random A# on I-140, and on
I-140 approval notice you see that you are assigned an A #)
then
with extremely high fidelity, that will be the A# on your final green
card, and you don't have to wait for 485 notice
Most people I have met either on this board or real life has the correct A#
on I-140 receipt/approval notice.
However there are probablities that you did not put wrong A# on you I-140
and you still have different A# on 140 approval notice and 485 receipt
notice.
This is highly unlikely, which is usually associated with multiple I-140
petitions, or USCIS error etc. If there is only one single A# on 485 then
that is the correct A#.
However if one (one person, not one family) has multiple 485 with different
(at least two A#) on different 485 receipts, then something must be wrong
and you must contact USCIS immediately.
