Dear Bull,
I am a Chinese national and a XXXX (working title)
seeking an EB-1a (alien of extraordinary ability) visa so I can remain
in the U.S. to pursue my career.
One of the criteria for the EB-1a visa is an “independent” letter of
recommendation from a professional the review board from the U.S.
Immigration Office deems “famous” in the field in which my work can
be evaluated (the letters can’t be from a former professor or any
collaborators from my work).
I legitimately meet many of the criteria for
this visa (see attached resume) and have retained an immigration
lawyer who feels I’m right on the cusp of being able to confidently
submit my EB-1a visa application.
I understand my request is unusual, but it is unusual to have a renowned
BULL in XXX who has had an on-going relationship
with XXXX (how does the BULL and you relate: work, academia,....etc.)
I am hoping I could meet with you briefly to further clarify my need
for this specialized recommendation to accompany my EB-1a visa
application. This letter of recommendation would need to appraise and/or
state my XXX merit
and potential to contribute to the national/international production
and dialogue of XXXX (your field). As such, your reputation and stature is
exactly what could push my visa application from a moderately good
chance to a very good chance of approval.
Again, my resume detailing my background
is attached.
I can be reached by cell # or email xXXXXXX. My time is
flexible and I can meet you anywhere at any time.
I greatly appreciate your consideration and possible support of my
visa application.
Sincerely,
