* Employment green cards
There were 26,433 applications for employment-based green cards
in the final quarter of FY2020, down sharply from 32,530 during
the same period a year previously. In total, officials approved
13,709 employment green cards, down from 16,102 the previous year.
There was a rise in denials, but not as significant as the rise
in applications. In Q4 2020, only 5.5% of the total were denied,
but an increase of 11% compared to the previous year. For FY2020,
the total approved employment-based applications again out-number
the received applications, as 239,862 applications were approved,
