and did you ping by ip address?
anyway, share some files and see if you can access them. if you can't find the
machine in the network explorer, just type in \\machineName in windows explor
er to access the other machine.

Well I did use the IP addresses and they didn't work.
I wonder is there something special that I missed when installing and setting
up the router in order to get a 2000 and an xp machine to talk with each other
?

internet -> modem -> wireless rotuer -> 2000
-> XP
or
internet -> modem -> 2000
-> wirless router -> XP
I wonder is there something special that I missed when installing and setting
up the router in order to get a 2000 and an xp machine to talk with each other
?

The 1st one.
I guess the problem is my 2000 (nor sure though) because I couldn't find a "sh
aring" option at all in the dropdown menu if I right-click on any folder/file.

I guess the problem is my 2000 (nor sure though) because I couldn't find a "sh
