that Warren made, Charlie was against the purchase.
On the other hand, Warren does provide a lot better entertainment than
Charlie. He likes to make jokes and pass out his wisdom in memorable quotes.
Overall, I think Warren is a better businessman but Charlies is a better
investor.

However, about investment, it's hard to say. Charlie is more of a
conservative one. And Charlie has more of Fisher than Warren does. Charlie
has more guts than Warren on resisting impulsive things though they both
have strong guts. We can see these from their styles of early days when they
manage funds separately. Warren has more work-out skills demonstrated in
Washington Post case and Sanborn Map case, but these skills can b

sole function is to show shareholders that they'll get another good seven

about that question couple of years ago when he gave Bill Gates majority of
his shares. In a sense, Bill is forced to take care of Berkshire if
something unexpected will happen. What we call it in Bridge? Strip squeeze?

..it competes with others (e.g. private equity firms) to gain access to
sound business. Over the years, these businesses are willing to sell it to
Berkshire for a smaller price because they like Warren's reputation of
keeping his hand off managing their businesses (except the capital
allocation part). I don't think Bill Gates has that reputation...and he will
need to pay a price for it.

1) He is someone doesn't need money, he will take the responsisbility for th
e company.
2) He is a successful business man.
3) He has shown his ability managing huge fund.
4) He has some authority that no other man can compare.
5) He can deligate things successfully.
Well, true, Bill doesn't have the reputation of acquiring a business and let
it keep running alone. But, I don't think anyone else does. Bill won't end
up running the company himself,
