know why ppl compare HF vs SP 500. HF's are absolute investment vechicle. So
if SP500 is dn 50% a year and you only lose 1%, your fund is still not
successful.

Buffett wins if S&P beats the average of a bunch of hedge funds
in 10 year return (all expenses excluded), starting 1/1/2008.
Last year hedge funds won by a large margin: -20% (including
2% fee) vs -37%.

发帖数: 1125 | 17 I dont know what he is trying to do. New hf's are easy to demise in this
competitive market, however good funds are inclined to be good in long term.
If his hf universe is fixed to funds which are more than 10 yrs in the
industry, I think he has a high probability to lose in the bet.
