Devaluating the dollar by 50% has happened before. That was in 1985 when
Volcker was the chairman of the Fed. It was called Plaza Accord. Did the
American standard of living decline dramatically after 1985? No, it was one
of the best 15 years in the history of American equity.
Doomsday forecasters have always existed in the human history. But move on,
there is nothing terrible associated with 50% dollar decline.

What good is an equity market if there's no fundamental strength behind
it? I don't know if Zimbabwe has a stock market or not, if they do it
must be all astronomical #s. That market could go up one billion points
a day, but it's definitely not booming over there.
Plaza Accord was supposed to solve the trading deficit and revive US
production base, and yet it achieved neither. The deficit was still
