Beat S&P 500 by 0.28% -- the first time above S&P in the past 4
years.
Similar to 2008, I completed 2009 with almost identical number
with S&P (I lost to index by 0.4% last year), the only difference
is that luck is on my side this time.
I had a dream run in the last week and the losing game suddenly
turned 180 degree. I did nothing, but my portfolio held on
very well. With the help of a little bit dividend that I didn't
update into my numbers, I finished the last week +3% while the | s**********n 发帖数: 868 | 2 APY: 24.3%

year 2009 saw a much better start. When the market bottomed
in March, I was already 10+% ahead. What's more important is
that I adjusted the porfolio in time and rode up with the market
after that. At end of Apr, I already led by 15% and some of my
small cap stocks earned more than 50% in a few weeks.
It was at time moment my contrarian nature kicked in. I sold
most positions and decided to turn bear

Did little the whole year. This is evidence that performance does not equal
to investing ability.
Becoming overly cautious after the bloodshed in 2008 and started doubting my
own judgment and lost out on a few opportunities on tweaking the stock
portfolio. Although experience helps in making sounder judgment, emotions
still hamper the decision making in one way or the other. | a**e 发帖数: 5794 | 5 0.5%

statement and did a rough calculation of 2008 and 2009 returns in IRA from
both me and my LD (which is managed by me)..
2008: -6.01%
2009: 16.68%
my benchmark is VFORX, which returned -34.5% and 28.3% respectively.
I'm pretty satisified, except that most gains appeared in my LD's IRA,
not mine.. sigh
