well, one way to look at it is the following: if *every* country in the
world is printing money like crazy to save their own economy, then printing
money is not a problem (for the US) and it should have a minimum impact on
the inflation. And that is precisely what we have observed in the past year
or so...

Not quite. It means every nation will have massive inflation.
If I jump off a skyscraper, I die. If everyone else also jumps off, then
will I still die? Yes, along w/ everyone else.

Inflation is quite apparent in China. Most essentials like meat grain are up
10% in price in recent months because the economy recover strongly, at
least in statistic numbers. People feel wealthy with increasing house value
like in US 3 years ago and are more likely to spend their money. For US,
watch the economy as well. If GDP grows strongly to regular 3%, inflation
will come.

This is an important point, is inflation relative or absolute? My
understanding is that for the US to see high inflation, it has to be
inflation w.r.t. other currencies. But it well could be that the inflation
has to take place w.r.t. certain commodities, such as rice or gold. That
said, a commodity is not a commodity if it is not traded in some currencies,
and therefore in all currencies (minus RMB, which is an entirely different
story, since it is not freely traded on the open market). Ain't w

I feel that China is a slightly different story because the RMB is under
state control and does not flow freely w.r.t. other major currencies. I don'
t really know how to make a connection between China and US here, or use one
to predict the other. What you said could well be true, on how the GDP
growth relates to potential inflation in the US. But, inflation, as a
healthy side-product of general economical development, is less of a concern
(to most people here) than a sudden fear that there is

都印钱的话,美元相对于其他货币不贬值,所有这些货币相对于黄金等硬通货都贬值。

Strong economic growth leads to decrease of risk, which makes leverage-up
attractive. With pretty large amounts of money created in recession,
speculative leverage becomes possible and will be very profitable. So much
money chasing limited amounts of resources causes inflation. I hope this
time it is not hyerinflation, in which case it wipe out everybody.
