Some like the index funds / index ETFs and these people may go open an
account with Vanguard.
Some don't want to pay much fee when trade stocks and ETFs, so they open an
account with IB and pay less than $0.3 USD per trade.
Some got enough cash to sit and park and would go to Zecco or ML to open an
account to enjoy the free x number of trade per month.
But all of these ppl are aiming for the same goal; the goal is to lower the
cost of investing by either lowers the fees or expenses but keep the same
flexibility or availability for the return of assets. |

ib, .3/trade hard. usually .7 for unbundled. but there's monthly fee.
zecco is never a major player in broker biz. its service just so so. go
etrade, amtd, schw, fidelity, scottrade, etc.

i have an account there but hvn't used for many years,
in the past, the data sub is 10$, no monthly fee

better.
in addition i remember there's minimum balance requirement for free etf. but good to know they remove the bar.
