w**s 发帖数: 141 | 1 Suppose I do a withdrawn of my capital from my Roth IRA, how do I claim tax
and make sure there is no tax charged to my withdraw? According to
Fidelity, there will be a form 1099 mailed to me. | Q***u 发帖数: 433 | 2 The capital part (i.e. your own contribution part) can be withdrawn anytime
you want without paying taxes. Fidelity will not withhold any taxes on your
withdrawal. They will send you a form at the year end, but I believe it's
not 1099. You simply need to fill up a form in your next year's tax return
to show that your withdrawal is less or equal to the amount of your total
contribution.
We took money out of two Fidelity Roth IRAs in 2007 to purchase a house and
that's what happened to us. | Q***u 发帖数: 433 | 3 Correction. They will send you a form 1099-R to show the amount of
withdrawal. It's then your own responsibility to figure out whether or not
you need to pay taxes on the withdrawal. |
