发帖数: 433 | 3 No matter what, don't falsely claim U.S. citizenship. You never know when
they might come back to bite you.
My wife's 485 was hold up for 2.5 year because of background check. We filed
a lawsuit, which forced USCIS to start processing her case. Then we learned
that the hold-up was due to a voting record of my wife that indicated she
falsely claimed US citizenship. So USCIS denied her 485 and ordered her to
leave the country within 30 days or so. We were eventually able to show that
she never voted in any real election and got the case overturned, but it
was scary. We still don't know exactly where and when she filled up that "US
citizen" check box on whatever form... So, be careful with what you do. |
