| y****e 发帖数: 23939 | 3 这个价钱很便宜的了,是最后的价格吗?一般广告是这么多,体检后不一定能拿得到。 | l**y 发帖数: 309 | 4 I am 35 years old and this is the quote from the agent.
I will do the physical exam later to determine the rate.
However, if the final rate is much higher than this, I will cancel the
policy and get the refund.

than yours. I got the quote online, there are a lot of websites like that.

| S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 9 Why do you need a 30-yr term life rather than 20-yr? I think the question
should be asked first is, 20 years from now, do I really need a life
insurance?

| g*****g 发帖数: 34805 | 10 Usually you match that to about your retire age. If you are at your
30s, it makes sense unless you plan to retire at 50s.
Life insurance is to protect the salary you can earn for your family.

| S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 12 20 years from now, my kids will graduate from college and they will be
financially independent, my LD also works, so I do not worry about her
finance issue. Besides, over the coming 20 years, we expect to accumulate
reasonable nest egg, which may or may not be enough for both of us, but
certainly would be enough for one of us. I think my situation is quite
common among the Chinese professionals in the US.
So no, retirement age has nothing to do with life insurance term length.

| S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 13 Your kids may already graduate from college by then, and even if not, your
accumulated asset over the 20 years should be more than enough. So tell me
why you still need an insurance policy after 20 years?

| k***n 发帖数: 3158 | 14 I think you were confused by whole life insurance and term life insurance
people buying a term life insurance covering upto their retirement age are
to protect their families just in case they die within the term, 10, 20
or 30 years, and their families would suffer financially otherwise.
It's totally different from retirement saving though and life insurance
should be separated from retirement saving that's why we buy term.

| g*****g 发帖数: 34805 | 15 Well, your kids probably won't suffer hardship at their 20s, but anything
could happen. They might be unemployed or disabled, and if you want to be
very risk-adverse, you'd want to protect all your active income. And you
probably earn much more than now if you continue to be employed at that
time.
Not saying your mindset is wrong, but a 30 yrs plan is probably more
conservative and doesn't really cost much more.

| S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 16 Of course how big saving you already have and you expect to have near the
end of term life should be one important factor to determine how long and
how much you need to insure. If you already have, say a couple of millions,
then you may not need life insurance at all.

| S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 17 If one wants to be more conservative, he may want to insure larger amount
rather than longer term, since his family will suffer most if he die
tomorrow or in near future, than if he die 20 years later. He may consider a
20-year plus a supplementary 10-year one, or 20-year plus GUL from his
employee.
