【在 r*******y 的大作中提到】 : Can you give me an investment that always have a positive return? : The answer is NO except money market accounts or savings. : Over the long term (10y+), stocks beat bonds(TIPS is one kind) : Simply buy walmart, or comsumer staples, they will beat inflation : : besides

y****i 发帖数: 778 | 52 Exactly. Market is always the best teacher. Don't be afraid. Everybody will
find their comfortable investment strategy at last. DIY individual plain
vanilla bond is the simplest for me, and so far I find it is very effective
though a little bit boring. But as long as it works, boring is better than
losing money. Investment is boring and should not be our whole lives. We
need money works for us, not vise versa.

3169 | 57 I would choose I-bond v.s. TIPS... TIPs is only available in 5-yr and 10-yr
terms and that put you under too much interest rate risk, at least under
today's valuation. Assuming you don't make a ladder or hold your TIPs till
maturity. I-bond is a better variable interest-rate fixed income vehicle for
individual investor IMHO. The down side is you can only invest 10K annually
...
yet
startling
