每年IRA的5500元，我可以每个月买大约400--500元的基金等，不管是涨是跌，坚持投
；也可以一次性（或者分少数几次）投入到某（几）个基金里面去。
我不知道一般这种IRA的投资原则是什么，是第一种还是第二种？请大家指教了。多谢

capital is only $550. Remember your family need 2-3 million USD (Year 2014
dollar) to retire comfortably. While one should not underestimate the power
of componding, it is still a few drops in a bucket.

are you kidding me?
What the most of the money comes from then?
I know the salary is minimal as well compared with the million.

withdraw safely, 3-3.5% is about right, so $2MM gives you 60-70k annual
withdrawal, that is not a lot of dough. Adding SS income, you end up with 80
-120K, depending on if two of you eligible for SS, and how much SS reduction
we will have 30 years from now. A 20% average tax rate will give you 64-96K
to spend, I think my wife and me need at least that much to retire
comfortably, so $2MM besides paid-off primary residence is our minimum
target.

traditional IRA account at Vanguard. I buy the money market fund
One the 2nd trading day of the year, I do a "roth-conversion", moving the $
5500 from traditional IRA to Roth IRA. Herein, I can buy the fund I want to
hold for long term (e.g. an S&P500 fund)
