around. I often remind myself to remember the following two quotes, which I
first picked up many years ago from a book by Investor's Business Daily.
"I never buy at the bottom and I always sell too soon."
"Do not try to anticipate what the market will do next—simply go with what
the market is telling you"
Basically, these two tell the same thing - never try to predict the future.
For me, I invest for profit, for my kids' education and for our lifestyle
after retirement. It look to me there are plenty of people who care more
about "being right" rather than making money. They are so passionate about
their predictions. Honestly, I do not understand why someone has to short
when the overall market is going up, and vice versa. | S**C 发帖数: 2964 | 2 Value investors never buy at the bottom, or for that matter, to buy at
bottom is pure luck. They tend to be early, and they almost always sell
before the peak, again, tend to be early. But I do not see there is any
problem. Most successful investors are surprisingly value investors. | p****4 发帖数: 517 | 3 SOFC, selling too early is not a problem; however, buying too early
definitely is a problem. From time to time, I made the "buying-too-early"
mistakes myself. In retrospect, most of those mistakes were caused by
trusting technical analysis too much and neglecting the market trend.
