A six-page proposal, (including the past work and future proposal), 15-minite
presentation, 5-15m question time.
The PhD exam in the physics department of Mcgill is written exam. It is said
more difficulty than SUB.
In the physics department of Montreal univ, a proposal (100 pages), a long
presentation, and questions. Passing the qualifying exam means you almost get
PHD.

Qualification exam.
In our school, we just take written one. (I just took it.) But it is a three
day totally 24 hours test. And the pass ratio is only 50%.
