Platform shoes likely cause of traffic death

HIGASHI, Fukushima - A 19-year-old girl was killed when she crashed her car
into a utility pole on a road here, apparently because she was unable to hit
the brakes quickly enough because she was wearing platform shoes, police
said.
Police said Hiromi Takahashi, a high school student from Izumizaki,
Fukushima Prefecture, died in the accident at about 1:50 a.m. |
