The Chinese in North America Oracle User Group (CINAOUG) will host a web
seminar on Monday, June 13, 2011 featuring Xiao Tong, who will talk
about new developments in SQL Server. Before Mr. Tong’s presentation,
seminar attendees are invited to participate in a discussion on how
Oracle users deal with the changing IT environment.

Abstract:
Should Oracle DBAs and developers get ready for role changes as
companies are increasingly adopting new IT technologies and
infrastructure strategies, such as outsourcing and cloud computing? We
welcome DBAs as well as developers in other database technologies to
participate in the discussion. If necessary, we can continue the
discussion after Xiao Tong’s presentation.

Topic: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - What's New for Developers?
Presenter: 小汤 (Xiao Tong)
Abstract:
SQL Server 2008 introduced new data types, programming features, and
improved programming environment support for SQL developers. There are
many companies have just moved or still moving to SQL Server 2008 (or
R2) from previous versions of SQL Servers. This session will provide an
overview of new features for developers.

Presenter bio:
Tong is currently a SQL Server DBA with experience of managing and
tuning terabyte mission critical databases. In addition to typical DBA
responsibilities as his main strength, Tong also can wear other hats as
SQL programmer, SSIS and SSRS developer. Before entering the database
field about 4 years ago, Tong was a .NET developer. Tong is trying to
pick up
knowledge on Oracle from CINAOUG and maybe one day can open the door to
enter the Oracle realm.
