z****r 发帖数: 119 | 1 After having installed Java 7 update 11 on my windows 7 (64-bit) platform,
I found that Chrome/Firefox Java plug-in doesn't work any more. The testing
with the following test page failed.

IE 9 appears to be fine.
This is quite annoying. Can someone help?
In firefox, it reads " something is wrong, Java is not working.". When I
click to install plugin, it prompt me the JRE 1.7u10, the install of which
then failed.
In Chrome, it keeps ask me to install Java plug-in, again and again... | j***j 发帖数: 9831 | 2 it's blocked on purpose.

this java problem is messing up with a lot of people's work. terrible,
unbelievable. Those "java 7" questions are flooding over the internet.
both firefox and ie (latest version) have disabled the java plugin for now.
A simple test:

People mentioned some work around solutions (from enabling java script
applets through normal settings, to enable java for specific sites as it
being disabled in firefox or disabling ie activex filtering...), none worked
in my application.

I'm not a java programmer, but some former web/db students in our group used
java scripts to implement a design, which requires to click a web page
button to send messages to a local exe program via socket.
Now, I found out this function doesn't work due to the damn java problem,
and some users wanted to use our system on Tuesday, that why I'm stuck in
lab now.
At least, our application works with ie after replacing the latest version
with an older one (tested with java 7 update 2).
Some recent java versions also got various complaints.
