polish我的CV. 我编了一个假的工作经历来FILL IN THE GAP。我的解释是：due to
family reason, 我回中国工作了一年，当然公司的名字也是乱编的。 请问这样行吗？
我也许可以诚实地在CV上说我由于身体健康原因STAY AT HOME. 但我估计这样我连
INTERVIEW的机会都不会有。The job market is really tough.

看了我的简历电话过来， 问了好久我的gap情况， 最后她说2年多的gap是一个red
flag. 还有一个hiring manager跟我说， 2years gap is significant。 我现在就是
好久都没有面试了， 投出去的简历连回音都没有。 真的看不到希望了。 不过， 我还
是不会编假的工作经历的。 |

Yeah, I am fully aware of the background check. But how does a company check
my work history in China? I can provide the phone number, or all the
information they want.
I hate to disguise my work history this way. But is there a better solution?
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated!

Back to the work history gap, what exactly should I fill in on my CV? I cant
leave it blank, saying "To be discussed", or saying "out of job due to
family reason". Recruiters are not stupid. I need to have a reasonably good
resume so I can have the opportunity to tell my story in person.

大公司通常也会对你在中国的经历进行背景调查
虽然具体过程不可考
工作经历造假绝对不可取

interview 时我跟他们解释去年底及今年大部分时间我在中国 ＴＡＫＥ CARE ＯＦ
ＦＡＭＩＬＹ ＢＵＳＩＮＥＳＳ，ＲＥＳＵＭＥ上的ＰＲＯＪＥＣＴ是ＰＡＲＴ－Ｔ
ＩＭＥ做的。他们一般一笑置之。所以说对有ＧＡＰ的人来说，在ＲＥＳＵＭＥ上可以
做点手脚，这样可以争取到ＩＮＴＥＲＶＩＥＷ的机会。但在跟公司ＯＮ－SITE ＩＮ
ＴＥＲＶＩＥＷ时，要跟他们解释清楚。在公司的ＡＰＰＬＩＣＡＴＩＯＮ ＦＯＲＭ
上一定要诚实，不然ｂａｃｋｇｒｏｕｎｄｃｈｅｃｋ will fail. |

大的笑话。那10年的skill都没有用了吗？很少人是一直工作很多年一点gap没有的。那
样的人才是机器人呢。人人都有一点gap的，长短不同，这很正常。我经验很短，居然
有几个gap, 因为各种各样的原因，lol,找工作人家都没在乎，最多就问一句。人人都
focus on skill的。你有能力摆在台面上，别人不能做你能做，你要的钱还不多的话，
谁还不请你？ |

job opportunities in DC region. If you are a citizen/green card/EAD, you
should be able to land a software job in DC.

找很长时间的工作。
有时觉得人生就是一场梦。我是10年前正赶上INTERNET BUBBLE时开始工作的，那时每
人手里都有好几个OFFER。一个TRUCK DRIVER 都能找到一份SOFTWARE ENGINEER 的工作
（真的！！！）。那真是一个疯狂的年代啊。人人都奔START-UPs，梦想着做
MILLIONARE. 当时周围的PAPER MILLIONARE太多了（指公司给的STOCK OPTION 价值已
有MILLION，可是年限不到还不能EXERCISE.所以只是MILLIONARE ON PAPER)。可惜没几
年好日子就到头了，好多公司倒闭了。好多PAPER MILLIONARE 连工作都丢了。 真有点
象老毛统治下大跃进和三年自然灾害的光景。
