Your status automatically changes to H-1B on October 1, 2010. This is the
preferred way as it is more conservative. Please note it is strongly
recommended not to travel from April 1, 2010 through October 1, 2010 if you
choose to file this way.
Consular Notify:
You must activate your H-1B status by traveling outside the U.S. sometime
after October 1, 2010 and prior to the expiration date of your current work
