employment for STEM OPT. I was shocked, as I've been volunteering in this e
-verified company for 3 months, and if that doesn't count, I have
accumulated more than 4 months of unemployment. Even if i can find a job
soon,can I still apply for H1b?
I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Please help! |

学校ISO
没说清楚的么？你的STEM OPT从什么时候算起的？看看能不能跟volunteer的负责人讲
讲，出个非免
费工作的证明什么的。。。unemployment的日子好像目前差得不严，楼主不要panic了。

can be unpaid during STEM OPT.
Download the latest policy and show it to the person in charge at ISSS. |

h1b出问题，因为失业超过3个月的。如果那位有这方面的反面消息，也请在这里分享一

发帖数: 34 | 6 I think our ISSO is correct. Just google 'stem opt volunteer'. Here is the
latest policy from USCIS regarding STEM OPT.

Regarding the volunteer matter, it says:
'Students on an OPT STEM extension are allowed to volunteer, incidental to
their status. This means that volunteer work is allowed but does not count
as employment for the purpose of maintaining F-1 status.'

发帖数: 34 | 7 xiaomin,我们学校ISSO的大妈也没太半过STEM OPT,她边跟我讲边翻资料，无语。。
因为这是朋友的公司，我想让他先pay我，过后我在把钱还他。但是应该怎么具体操作
呢（假设ISSO要证明的话）？这公司雇人都是给cash,没有company check...
了。
