positions:
First, many thanks to all the people who had expressed interest in this
post and had sent me messages for an (informal) application. Please
understand that there are only 2 or 3 positions available, so it is
infeasible for me to recommend all the 40 applications that I received.
Among these applications, I can only selectively pick 4 to 5 for a
reference. I have sent messages back to the applicants that I see fit
for further application instructions. For the rest of you who hadn't
received my message, I wish you the best luck in your future career and
life sincerely.
Well, so much for political craps, and let me give some feedbacks that
make more sense. Here I just want play fair and explain about my
criteria for selecting candidates. Hopefully, this could get me more
understanding and make people feel better (and hate me less).
0. Please understand that the references I make is directly to the
hiring/engineering manager of these positions. So they are highly
targeted and dedicated, but not general references. This is why there
are very limited positions.
1. These are full time positions, but not intern positions. So I cannot
recommend internships.
2. These are software engineer positions, but not PM or data analyst
positions. So I cannot make recommendations for those positions.
3. These positions are focuing on development rather than testing. So
people with development background take precedence over people with
testing background.
4. These are pure software positions but NOT hardware positions. So
people with software background take precedence over people with
hardware/middleware background (like routers, sensor networks, etc).
5. Given what the company is doing, people with a background of web
application development take precedence over those with experience in
other areas.
6. People with a professional background take precendence over fresh-
grads. Exceptions are made for truly exceptional fresh-grads candidates
with super strong educational background. |
