各谈了半小时。 其实2007年我去过这家公司面试， HR还是原来的HR， 但是
department manager已经换了一个德国人(公司被德国人买了)。 跟HR谈了一些常规问
题， 我就不说了。 部门经理的英文水平和中国的高中生有得一拼。 和部门经理谈了
一些职位细节和公司的business, 基本对话如下，
他： I am not american, you live in Clarksburg? how far away from here？
我： about 30min driving.
他： On your resume, you said you worked on multi-effect falling film
evaporators, so tell me what do you know about evaporators.
我： (我知道他是在测试我， 他做evaporator有20多年了， 所以我简单说了一下工作
原理， 和几点细节， 我不想在鲁班面前班门弄斧， 他没有在像我提问， 我们在专业
上谈的很少)。
他： (然后向我介绍了一下他的部门和公司， 以及整个行业)。
我： (我也像他介绍了一下我的现在的处境)。 since my graduation in 2007, I
have been working as simulation engineer in Connecticut. There is nothing
wrong with my current position...but since my family live in Maryland, I
have to constantly travelto MD to visit my family every 2-3 weeks. This is
why I am looking for new job opportunities in the area.
他： I totally understand, I used to have the same situation, work in a
place that was 400km away from my house...I think you are very smart, and
you are interesting candidate.
我： My personality is conservative, and I am certainly not the person who
like to change job every 2-3 years.
他： We will offer you stability. This position is to replace a PhD(操， 老
子是本科毕业， 就是有几年工作经验)， he got PhD in multi-effect falling film
evaporators, but he is moving back to China(有一个老中海龟了)....we will
select two candidates by the end, and I hope you will be one...we still have
several interviews to go, I will let you know in the next 2 weeks.
这个部门一共有12个人， 德国经理说他们一年的营业就是12 million, 也就是每人1个
million。 有此可见这份工作发展潜力无限。 大家说说根据以上对话， 我的胜算是多

Hello, ABC and XYZ,
My primary purpose of sending you this email is to thank you for hosting my
interview yesterday.
As I told ABC on Friday, I was only speculating that some of my experience
an skills might be a good fit to your current opening position when I
decided to submit my resume. However, after my conversation with XYZ, I
learned much about the technical aspect of this position. Yes, I think
equipment design and sizing are very close to my career interest and
expertise -- scientific computation and programming. In addition, customer
service and teamwork are also my strengths.
I do evaluate the business while searching for my job opportunity. Yesterday
, I also learned much about your company and department, and I did sense the
growth potential in your future business. Therefore, I can visualize that
my personal career will even advance at a greater rate if I have the chance
to tie onto your current business. Last, I look forward to the opportunity
