发帖数: 228 | 1 My OPT will expire on June 1, 2011. I am a stem major and want to extend my
OPT.I need my employer's e-verify number and put it on the I-756 form.
My question is: my current employer recently started to register for E-
verify and the HR department told me today that it's still on the process
and they don't get the E-verify's number yet. It seems that they don't know
when they will get the number.
My questions are:
1) If the HR still doesn't get the e-verify number by June 1 when my opt
will expire, can I still apply for the opt extension after June 1?
2) Anyone knows the process of e-verify registration process? Usually it
takes how long to get the number released? I call the e-verify department
and people there say it depends on different cases and there is no specific
time slot for application.
3)I heard about the 60 days Grace Period. I got my opt/ead card right after
I graduated so I didn't use any 60-day-Grace-period yet. Do I still have
this 60 days to adjust my visa status if I still cannot get the e-verify
number after my opt expires?

finish within a few days if they enter things correctly. you still have more

发帖数: 228 | 3 谢谢。可是我今天又去问了一下hr，里面的人说是1个月以前申请的e-verify，然后她
说她们也不可能知道具体时间什么时候能批下来能拿到e-verify的号码。
我自己上网查了一下，我确实有2个月的grace period，但是这个时间不能用于opt延期。
我另外一个问题是，那如果最坏的打算是转h4的话，是不是在grace period内转也够了？

的，其实就是为了保住身份。我们学校不算小啊。
我真不了解公司是如何申请e-verify的，你有接触过吗？
你是说学校的hr在网络上申请，然后很快就会给号码吗？

process，她现在不知道号码，那我该怎么办呢？我催她是不是也没用啊，她要是有号
码她会给我的。
我特地打电话给e-verify customer service问了，工作人员说，没有什么规定的时间
比如多久能办完多久给号码，要看每个公司提交啊什么的情况，工作人员只是说他建议
我还是跟hr沟通，可是我也不能老催啊。真着急啊。
还有什么别的主意吗？我从来没想到会有这样的情况，因为学校类有e-verify应该早已
经是必须要办的，我一直以为学校早就有这个了。

e-verify number是6位数吗？

发帖数: 1280 | 9 给你出个馊点子，万一到6月1号还没拿到，就随便填一个错的号码，uscis会rfe，然后
你再把正确的号码给他们，中间pending的时候你可以继续工作。 |

接被拒？如果真的到时还没有拿到number，确实可以这样，在等到结果之前lz可以一直
合法工作。
但据说register e-verify非常容易。lz安心等吧。 |

后续问题是：我自己到哪里再次核查呢？不是不相信hr，只是看到好多case说数字错了
麻烦大了。可是又不想让hr查。自己能核查吗？
