core java / database role:
Position Description
Our client is one of the world’s leading financial institutions. We are
looking to hire a mid-level to junior java/database developer. This person
will focus on our historical, quantitative and research database systems.
Skills Required
· Minimum 2 - 5 years of Java and Database development experience
· Strong knowledge of Core Java, JDBC, multithreading, Spring
framework
· Solid Relational Database fundamentals, Reporting
· Working knowledge of Unix/Linux OS.
· Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Mathematics
proficiency.
· Ability to learn and adapt principals/concepts that are integral
to business operations.
Skills Preferred
· Experience working with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL or MS SQL
Server.
· Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and
methodologies including related technologies: eclipse, JUnit, ant, SVN, CVS
· Experience with PL/SQL programming a plus.
· J2EE/web services a plus.
· Data Warehousing a huge plus.
JAVA NIO position
Position Description
The software division for a major equity trading firm with over 15 years
experience developing its own trading systems is looking for a server
developer to work on the company's order management and market data systems.
The candidate is expected to design, implement, and maintain distributed
server software in a Linux environment.
A range of experience levels will be considered for this position; however,
a minimum of 5 years of development experience is required.
Skills Required
· Java experience a must
· Expertise with Core Java (J2SE 5/Java SE 6) including collections,
NIO, multithreading, Spring framework, concurrency and JNI
· Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and
methodologies including related technologies: Ant, Eclipse, Hudson, Ivy,
JUnit and SVN
· Object Oriented Design/Programming
· TCP/IP network programming a must
Skills Desired
· C++ experience very desirable
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Experience with JVM tuning, Java memory optimizations, real-time
extensions, Apache MINA, and/or QuickFIX/J a plus
· Experience working on real-time distributed systems is a
significant plus
· Knowledge of equity trading and associated protocols is a
