Job Function Office of the Chief Scientist has a mission to develop,
validate and promote new technologies and enhance existing technologies to
enable Qualcomm to continue its leadership in providing wireless solutions
to its customers. We seek a Systems Engineer with demonstrable knowledge and
experience in wireless multimedia system design and protocols. We expect
our systems engineers to keep up to date and understand technological
advances in areas directly and indirectly related to mobile and multimedia
systems and devices and channel those trends toward enabling new
applications. To that end, the responsibilities include developing new
system architectures, protocols, services, standards, or hardware
enhancements.
Skills/Experience Strong background in computer vision, image/video
processing, graphics processing and good understanding of the product
development aspects associated with the mobile multimedia industry.
Extensive knowledge of information theory and digital signal processing.
Experience with WWAN, WLAN or WPAN based systems for wireless multimedia
communications. Knowledge of user interface designs, a plus. Experience with
standardization of communications protocols, a plus. Excellent written and
verbal communications skills are essential.
Responsibilities Design and develop new technologies from concepts to
design specifications and/or standards for each project to delivering a
working prototype. This may require working with other departments or
divisions within the company to establish systems requirements.
Education Requirements Required: Master's, Electrical Engineering and/or
Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science Preferred: Doctorate,
Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science | c**e
