kill you, their Supreme Law states that all conquered people must be given a
chance to prove themselves and live. They have selected 12 of you to
participate in a special contest.. Each of you represent a portion of the
Earth’s population, and if you win you will save yourself and all the
people you represent and be allowed to continue living on the Earth. If you
don’t, you and all the people you represent will be vaporized. They give
you the following proposition.
In 30 minutes all of you will be put blindfolded and put in a pitch black
room. You will not be allowed to speak. And a hat will be put on each of
your heads. It will either be Blue or Red. Then you will be lined up, single
-file, with each person facing the back of the person in front of them on a
set of stairs.

When the lights come and the blindfolds come off, each person will be able
to see all the heads of all the people in front of them, so the last person
will see 11 people. The first will see no one. Each of you needs to guess
the color of the hat on your head. You will be allowed to say ONLY one word
“Blue” or “Red”. If the color you say matches the color of the hat on
your head you will live. There are no signals to be given to each other. You
must remain perfectly still. When you say the word you cannot use
intonations.
You will now be left alone to ponder your fate for the next 30 minutes.
Because Earthlings are brave, you will use that time to figure out how you
can collectively save the most people. It is clear that some of you may die,
but you are committed to saving the most. Figure out a way to beat the
context and save the most people. |
