会不会因为先申请了H1B，后面的OPT直接给拒了呢？ | d*******3

生效前的七八月份，申请OPT不会有问题吧？不会被拒吧？

Find a job first. If you have job offer already, apply OPT now, in February
. You can apply H1 in April.
If you don't have a job offer, no one will file your H1B anytime soon, and
you will just file OPT around graduation. | P*C

I have a job. I'm now in pre-OPT. I will have to apply and use post-OPT
after August graduation.
Two choices
1)apply H1B in April, then apply post-OPT in May. OPT applys from August
to
October, H1B starts then.
2)apply OPT in May, then apply H1B after I get OPT.(Potentially H1B cap
could be reached by then, then either OPT extention or I'm dead...).
I would prefer 1), but not sure if I get H1B too quickly, then I can not
apply OPT or they will reject my OPT application, and I will not be able
to
fill the gap from August to Oct.1st.
Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much!!
