1, Java Developer (DC)
Job Description
We have an immediate job opening for senior J2EE developer. The position
will be short to middle term JAVA development.
Job Requirement:
• At least 7 years experience in J2EE projects full life cycle
development
• Quick understand design from Business user cases on Wicket
• Must have expertise in the following technologies: Spring, JMX,
AJAX, Hibernate
• Familiar to J2EE application development
• Have a full experience on product life cycle
• Experience in Oracle database and LDAP
• Strong team player and cross-functional skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skill is a must
2, Unix Administrator (DC)
The UNIX administrator will support a Data Center located in Washington, DC.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting servers and
services running on Sun Solaris and Linux VMWare platforms, including web
content hosting, application deployment and development support SFTP and
more. Candidate must be a team player and able to independently work in a
challenging environment. Unix Administrator will report to enterprise server
manager.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide Unix Server Administration functions for specifically
assigned servers across the enterprise.
• Monitor backup logs for each assigned server on a daily basis and
take appropriate actions.
• Provide system performance monitoring and assist in capacity
planning.
• Produce and improve relevant Policies and Procedures.
• Acquire relevant knowledge to improve service delivery.
• Communicate technical knowledge appropriately with both technical
and non-technical audiences.
• Provide clear, concise and complete communications for operational
changes and problem notification, escalation and resolution.
• Monitor day-to-day activities and recommend & implement process
improvements.
• Perform capacity planning and performance monitoring of servers and
applications.
• Provide metrics and status reporting around system performance and
availability.
• Plan and Implement projects without supervision.
• Design and build high availability solutions.
• Provide contingency planning as needed.
• Must be able to recognize situations that require escalation to
management.
• Must be to respond quickly to UNIX related emergencies.
Technical Skills:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or SuSE Enterprise Linux
• VMware a plus
• Web search engine installation and configuration
• Solid background knowledge on TCP/IP networking
• Unix on Vmware
• SAN storage experience
• Shell scripting
• MySQL server management
• Exposure to Oracle databases
• Sun/HP Storage and Raid technology
• Apache and Oracle software administration
• SFTP
Preferred:
• Knowledge of supporting VERITAS NetBackup Services for Unix.
• Knowledge of supporting UNIX on Virtual as Physical platforms.
• Knowledge of supporting Tripwire Services.
• Knowledge of supporting Monitoring software
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Qualifications:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or
an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive, relevant, experience in
Systems Engineering required.
• Hardware and peripheral installation, configuration and maintenance
on server-class equipment
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to manage technical projects both within the team and across
multiple teams
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff both orally and in
writing; attention to detail required
