A boutique asset management firm is seeking a Java Developer to help
maintain and develop our proprietary quantitative multi-asset class trading
systems. As a key member of a small development team, you will be an
integral part of all aspects of our mission-critical trading infrastructure.
In addition to working with existing systems, you will be assisting with
making and implementing design decisions for new and improved data and
software architecture. You will be working directly with quants, traders,
portfolio managers, and the rest of the IT team to solve interesting and
challenging problems using technology.

Key responsibilities
Work with the rest of the development team to develop and
maintain the firm's proprietary software systems
Work directly with the trading desk, analysis team, portfolio
managers, and other business groups to support existing systems and
implement new ideas
Onboard new, diverse, sometimes large datasets and create
appropriate ETL processes
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or
equivalent experience
Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills
Ability to effectively communicate and share your ideas
Ability and desire to quickly get up to speed on new
technologies and systems
Detailed understanding of Java and object-oriented software
design
Strong knowledge of relational databases -- knowledge of other
database paradigms a plus
Fluent in one or more scripting languages, and ability to read
and troubleshoot others (e.g. Perl, Python)
Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft SQL Server, and Apache
Tomcat
Familiarity with web interfaces -- GWT knowledge is a plus
Experience with MATLAB is a plus | p****n
