Perhaps it's easier for me to use email to articulate myself: I can make a
significant contribution to COMPANY. Given how well my research and
industrial background match this job, my past performance reviews of
straight top-ranks, my passion and sense of responsibility for this job, I'd
argue I'm a better candidate than all the others you are considering. I
just had a very pleasant meeting with HM in person this Monday morning; I
believe HM definitely wants me, and I was
convinced that I can repeat my past success, being effective in the job with
little ramp-up time. Getting the job done is what matters.
Could you share some ballpark numbers of what an offer may look like? I'm
sure you have a range in mind for this position, and I would appreciate an
offer in that range based on your evaluation of what I can bring to the
company.
