Introduction:
The Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (
abbreviated as IIE, CAS) was approved as a research institute in 2011
directly affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The IIE is mainly
engaged in the research field of information security. The IIE has six
research labs; they are Information Security Theory and System Laboratory,
Communication and Electromagnetic Security Technology Laboratory, Network
and System Security Technology Laboratory, Network and System Detection and
assessment Techniques Laboratory, Data Security Technology Laboratory and
Intelligent Information Processing Technology Laboratory.
The Institute of Information Engineering serves for the national strategic
demands, mainly focuses on information security technologies and their
applications, provides theoretical guidance and technical supports for the
national information security, carries out innovative research on the
fundamental and forward-looking information security scientific issues and
technologies, to promote and facilitate academic development; carries out
research and development of proprietary core technologies and systems of
information security, to meet the strategic demands of state departments and
industry sectors; leads the development of information security technology
in China, and educates senior information security professionals for the
state.
The Institute of Information Engineering currently has more than 180
permanent employees, including more than 60 professors and associate
professors by research, 4 were funded by the “Hundred Talents Program” of
the Chinese Academy of Sciences and more than 300 graduate students. The IIE
has six national innovation platforms, including State Key Laboratory of
Information Security, National Engineering Laboratory for Content Security
Technologies, Data Assurance and Communication Security Research Center of
Chinese Academy of Sciences (accredited research institutes of commercial
cryptology) and National Engineering Research Center of Information Security.
The Institute of Information Engineering will be based on principles of
independent innovation, demand-oriented and focusing on applications, and
will be driven by tasks to play the leading role in information security
research in China, to lead and support the technological development in this
field, to make significant contributions to the national strategic demands.
Your profile:
Excellent academic (PhD, or equivalent) degree in computer science,
electrical engineering, mathematics, or related science.
Proven knowledge in information security.
Interested in challenging, practically-motivated research problems, self-
motivated, capable of defining and representing R&D projects, and capable of
doing conceptual as well as implementation work, in an efficient and self-
organized manner.
You like working in teams, with team members from different organizations
and countries, and you enjoy working with people with different cultural and
professional backgrounds.
Fluent in English, and fluent in Chinese or prepared to learn it.

Background Requirements:
1) Doctor degree or above, age should be no more than 45.
2) Apply for the “one hundred person project” positions should meet the
following conditions: A continuous period of more than four years work
experience overseas after receiving his doctorate. Applicants should
normally be obtained assistant professor and above, or other comparable
positions abroad.
3) The applicant has chaired or participated as a major backbone in the
whole process of subject (project) research and achieved remarkable results.
4) Adhere faithfully to scientific ethics, study style decency, honest and
trustworthy, rigorous scholarship.
