SAS Programmer
Job description
Manage data programming and analytic needs for a growing public health
services/outcomes research group. This position involves responsibilities
for a wide range of data management, programming, and analytic needs
related to research based on national claims (e.g. Medicare, SEER-Medicare)
and large clinical registry databases.
Job functions/duties
1) Provide advice regarding hardware and software requirements for the
development and maintenance of data collection and data management systems.
2) Configure and maintain secure servers in accordance with HIPAA
regulations.
3) Write and edit programs to clean, manage, merge, and analyze data.
4) Prepare and maintain technical documentation of data and analysis
files.
5) Prepare SAS and STATA analysis datasets.
6) Contribute to study reports by providing statistical analyses of study
data and prepare tables and data displays.
7) Contribute to funding proposals by providing descriptions of relevant
data management, programming, and analytic functions.
8) Evaluate existing data collection/reporting systems and recommend
methods for data collection, analysis, and reporting on new projects.
9) Work with other team members to generate study progress reports.
10) Assist in the development of methods to evaluate progress of data
collection on new projects.
Job Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or
related field with strong computing and quantitative skills. Direct
experience providing data management and statistical support for major
research projects involving administrative/claims data. Skills in the use
of data management and statistical programs (e.g. Microsoft ACCESS, SAS, and
STATA). |
